Our goal is to foster a collaborative discussion on the issues and opportunities facing Connecticut’s forests. Coinciding with the five-year review of the Connecticut statewide Forest Resource Plan, we hope to engage in a discussion about how the plan can factor into the National Forest Resource Assessment.

The open forum style of the day encourages participation and welcomes a wide variety of perspectives. It is our hope to energize a diverse group of stakeholders to proceed in a coordinated fashion with plans to better manage our shared forest resources.

• How does the upcoming Forest Resource Assessment affect forest landowners in Connecticut?

• What have been the largest challenges facing the Connecticut Forest Resource Plan in the last 5 years?

• Would establishing a “wildlands and woodlands” vision like the one instituted in Massachusetts be beneficial for Connecticut?
